@ STEFFEN THOMAS MUSEUM OF ART How do you get to know a place? How do you understand where you are? What do you notice? In this workshop we will incorporate a short silent walk on the grounds of the museum as an invitation to tap into our senses for learning and discovery. We will create a color chart of colors we notice when intently observing, make rubbings and collections to notice texture and pattern. Combined with a short and simple writing exercise, we will also explore drawing and mark-making based on our observations. We will explore what makes a place, because learning what is surrounding oneself is at the heart of creativity. It's about noting the details and acknowledging the possibilities. You will go home with your very own personal field guide as well as artwork from the exploration.
This is a roving workshop for all ages and all levels that is about exploring our surroundings and how observation can inspire creativity.
Please let us know if you have any special requirements to participate in the walk.
